Hybrid Cloud Connectivity
Many hybrid architectures propose moving only certain application by the building blocks to the cloud.A well extreme example is a web front on Amazon and the back end transaction server in on premises data center
But a new technique of hybrid says that it’s ok to separate the data from the applications and even allow to run multiple applications to run from multiple cloud provider sites against a common data source that can easily be found in a company’s data center.
In some more extreme and in hard cases we're talking a recommendation for an IT straight jacket.
Even separating the data from the applications and then putting the half in cloud would be nothing just short of insane.
Separating the data services from the application services is nothing new now we all do it all the time almost in the data centers and, since the data is usually all locked in a secure data center, here the security is less of an issue.
Some companies actually partially divide the services between the two data centers but in the process in which we have have built the dedicated network bandwidth necessary to support the traffic and ensure some best and optimum quality performance. In this sort of situation the security is managed by keeping it all behind the firewall and limiting the access and also encrypting data in motion
When it comes to moving the application services to the cloud and leaving your data in the data center some people claimed an appropriate analogy is using a bull horn to have a conversation with his/her teenager.
The new technologies and the models offers an another way to provide connection and the main factor is to get the cost effective high- speed network connections from cloud provider sites to the data centers. More over the services offered directly by hosting vendors companies and organizations are jumping in the competition to offer high speed connections .
For the organizations and for the companies there are mainly some things which need to be consider when deciding that this model is for you or not and also considering options for high speed network connections.
Let’s discuss those things which are as follows:
1) Security
2) Network bandwidth and performance
1. Security: . Keeping the information safe in transit and dealing with the access control is very much critical
Settling some major issues, such as encrypting the data before it goes over the wire and making sure that the data doesn't travel outside the restricted geographic borders and it becomes also critical before you provision any new connections
2. Network bandwidth and performance: As we all know that the applications are very sensitive and depending upon the application's sensitivity to it’s latency, the cost to provide a given performance level over the network may eliminate some savings which is gained in moving the application to the cloud.Run some simulated transactions which are based on the benchmark and it will give you a sense of performance in new environment as well
